Lacoise is an artisan workshop and studio immersed in nature. Perched between hills, mountains and forests, we work alongside the flow of the river that has run directly through the heart of our space since it was constructed as a water mill, in the early 1700’s.
A Sanctuary of Slow Craft
In a world of the digital, mass produced and always-on convenience, we choose the heavy, the tactile, and the patient. Every piece created at Lacoise is lovingly hand crafted and unique.
Our focus:
Stone: Specialising in limestone, granite, and marble, we create environmental sculptures designed to sit naturally within the landscape, and invite exploration and interaction.
Light: Specialising in light-based art through alternative photographic processes. By experimenting with both heritage (such as cyanotype and wet plate collodion) and emerging techniques, we bridge the gap between historic craft and contemporary vision.
